jivamukti

A Jivamukti Yoga class aims to not only train your body, but to educate your heart, soul and mind. Jivamukti Yoga attempts to integrate the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of yoga practices, that originated in India, into the modern lifestyle-without losing sight of the ancient and universal goal of the practices... which is liberation. As you learn to flow from asana to asana, you'll discover that your yoga practice makes a real impact on the way you live your life.

Class consists of a creative, flowing, vinyasa sequence, inspirational music, breath awareness, meditation, ancient yogic teachings for the modern mind, hands-on alignment, and of course... relaxation.

The benefits of yoga are endless, so there's never been a better time to get involved. Other than the obvious things such as increasing flexibility and relaxing the mind, it is great at increasing lubrication of the joints, ligament and tendons. This is particularly good if you are looking for something to aid the prevention of arthritis or for fibromyalgia treatments. It also massages all the organs of your body, and is one of the only activities that can do this for you.

"This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they are a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond."
- Rumi (The Guest House)
